Educational Goals and Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Describe the role of asthma trigger management, short-acting beta2-agonists, and inhaled corticosteroids in asthma therapy.
• Describe the role of LABAs in the stepwise treatment of asthma.
• Discuss the advisory issued by the FDA on LABA safety and the evidence related to this advisory.
• Counsel a patient on the use of a LABA and the risk versus benefit of use for the specific patient.
